  1. Quick serach for quotes on http://www.searchquotes.com/search/Augusto_Boal/ and heres a few:

"In all nations an exceptional man exists that compensates the deficiencies of the remainder. In those moments, when humanity is found collectively in a state of decadence, there always remain those exceptional beings as point of reference."

A good one "Sometimes democracy must be bathed in blood."

"We will go to the sun of freedom or to the death; if we die, our cause will continue living."

For us history folk "Everything I did, all my actions, all of the problems I had I dedicate to God and to Chile, because I kept Chile from becoming Communist."

This is strange beacuse what I considered a quite calm and thoughtfull man comes across quite brutal to be frank, bearing in mind these quotes were toward the top of the list that could of been selected be someone who dislikes him, and considering what he did he must have more eneimes than the Avengers!

  3. After observing Boals quotes and analysing him as Liam posted above i wanted to see Boal in Action and see what he is like and how he created this movement and see him as a person rather than a man in books and pictures the link below is part 1 out of 5 harvard lectures

"expressing ourselves to a leader without verbal communication"
the games and the techniques that are used as they improvise and not use texts to send a message which is more productive as they're not restricted. Its a word for word illustration of how to play his games of revolution, WATCH THE LINK I HAVE POSTED THEY'RE INTERESTING AND SEEING BOAL IN ACTION DOES HELP YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS ABOUT!!
the way in which he speaks and is aware of everybody in that room and how humble he is towards everyone he encounters.

  4. with doing my own research into Augusto Boal i found the following website, i found really intersting as it, contains some details explain what his theories were, and how he applied them to his own workshops the website is: www.infed.org/thinkers/et-boal.htm , it also talk about the influences and concerns that boal had with the theories of the system by Uncle Stan :)

This following link is a link to a blog about augusto boal: http://augustoboal.blogspot.co.uk/search?updated-min=2009-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&updated-max=2010-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&max-results=15 , i found this blog really intersting as it show some picture that show his works in practice but it also talks about and explain the ranibow of desire, key terms from his theories, and how to put forum theatre into practice.

The last 2 links i found when researching Agusto Boal are two video links from youtube. The Two link are two parts of an interview with boal about his veiws and opinions of his theatre of the oppressed and what inspired him in creating the theatre of the oppressed what he wanted to get acroos to use through theatre of the oppressed and why he entered the poltical side to theatre. This interveiw was never aired until after he died so it worth taking a look, it is really interesting

the following quotes are the quotes that stood out to me the most:
“The Theatre of the Oppressed is theatre in this most archaic application of the word. In this usage, all human beings are Actors (they act!) and Spectators (they observe!).”

“It is forbidden to walk on the grass. It is not forbidden to fly over the grass.”

“Theatre is the most perfect artistic form of coercion.”

    1. These are extremly wonderful videoes Jess I enjoyed the quote from the first video "we are animlas that have the privallage of being actors". Your links have put my mindset into perpective and I now wish to focus of the importance of expressing the message not my own insecurties about acting.

  5. While I've not got any quotes/links etc. I would just like to remind you all of the forum theatre session we did for our old idea. While I know it's not our main idea now, I'm just wondering if anyone managed to save those sheets we wrote our reflections on? The noticable lines/features we thought were good.
